I General
i This method is applicable to the revision of the Standards for Medical Education (hereinafter referred to as the Standards) carried out by the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education of the Ministry of Education (WCAME). This method explains the principles and mechanisms for standard revision.
ii WCAME establishes and entrusts the standard revision group to periodically revise the Standards, and WCAME is responsible for the review of the Standards. After the revised Standards is approved, it will be released to the public and submitted to the Ministry of Education (MOE) for the record.
iii The standard revision shall be comprehensive, systematic, operable and scientific; in principle, it is routinely revised every year and comprehensively revised every five years.
II Revision Procedures
iv The standard revision group tracks and learns the latest worldwide or regional standards for medical education, and introduce them into China as a reference for revision of the Standards.
v The standard revision group shall solicit opinions and suggestions on the Standards from relevant domestic stakeholders through various means, including but not limited to: establishing channels and mechanisms for publicly collecting feedback for the Standards online; regularly organizing investigations, colloquia, and seminars among academic faculty and administration staff, assessors, students, employers, the public, authorities, etc. on standard revision.
vi The standard revision group shall compile and collate relevant information to form a revision proposal and submit it to the WCAME for deliberation. The deliberation may be conducted in the way of on- site meeting or online emails.
vii The approved Standards shall be published on the official website of the WCAME and submitted to the MOE for the record, and shall be publicized in various effective forms.
III Appendix
viii The addition, deletion and modification to the policies shall be discussed and approved at the plenary meeting of the WCAME.
ix These policies shall come into force on the date of promulgation and the right of interpretation shall be vested in the WCAME.
