On the occasion of the 35th Teachers' Day, to celebrate the Teachers' Day 2019 and the Commendatory Meeting for Representatives of Education workers and Groups were held in Beijing on September 10. Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the State and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, met with the commended representatives in the Great Hall of the People, warmly congratulated the commended representatives of education workers and groups, and extended best wishes to teachers and education workers throughout the country.
Professor Cheng Boji of Peking University, on behalf of the research team "The Revision of the Accreditation Standards for Basic Medical Education in China and Implementation and Improvement of the Accreditation System for Medical Education ", attended the commendatory meeting and received medal and certificate of the First Class of the National Teaching Achievement Award, and was received cordially by the leaders of the country as a representative of the commendation.

Certificate and Medal of First Class of the 2018 National Teaching Achievement Award for Higher Education
Led by Peking University, the achievement made by Cheng Boji, Ke Yang, Wang Weimin, Xie Ana, Cai Jingyi, Lu Yingqing, Yang Mianhua, Wang Qing, Yang Libin, Li Yan and Qubo won the first prize of National Teaching Achievement Award of Higher Education in 2018. Those experts revised and improved the Standards and Guidelines for Basic Medical Education (for Trial Implementation) (2008), then produced Accreditation Standards for Basic Medical Education in China (2016). They implement the accreditation of medical education and established accreditation system of medical education with Chinese characteristics and equivalent to the international practices. The achievements played an important role in aspects such as the standardization of medical education, quality assurance, deepening reform and promoting internationalization in China, etc.
The achievements gather the wisdom and effort of Chinese medical education experts. The award reflects the achievements of previous accreditation work of clinical medicine, and also lays a good foundation for future work. The accreditation of clinical medicine in China is steadily advancing towards the goal of forming a high-level accreditation system of medical education with Chinese characteristics and equivalent to international practices, and contributing Chinese experience, Chinese wisdom and Chinese program to the world medical education standards.
