On March 24, 2018, the annual working conference of the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education was held in Beijing. The participants include Qiming Wang, deputy director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Aijun Zhou, deputy director of Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, Shaohua Xia from the Agriculture, Forestry and Medical Education Division of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, the leaders and deputy leaders of the accreditation teams of 15 colleges and universities, and the secretariat working group members.
At the beginning of the meeting, the experts from each accreditation team reported the working conditions of accreditation for medical education program in 15 colleges and universities. Meanwhile, the staff unpacked and announced the voting results of each accreditation team. The participating experts discussed the suggestions of the accreditation result for each school and made a conclusion on it.
At the end of the meeting, Qiming Wang, deputy director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, suggested that the core work of accreditation for medical education is to promote the reform of medical education and pursue the excellent medical education in China, and the accreditation of medical education should be further encouraged. Aijun Zhou, deputy director of Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, suggested to establish a medical database as soon as possible.
