On July 25th, 2019, the working conference of the secretariat of the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education (WCAME) was held in Beijing Xijiao Hotel. Prof. Wang Weimin, director of WCAME, as well as new secretariat working group members attended this conference, which was hosted by Xie Ana, secretary general of the working committee.
At the beginning, the secretariat office announced the conclusion of the 2018 accreditation of medical education in 16 universities. In terms of the site visit, the assessors introduced a review visit of the medical education in one university, and members of the preliminary visit introduced the preliminary inspection or rectification construction of 7 universities in 2018 and 4 universities in the first half of 2019, which led a discussion on the construction of medical education. In terms of the application, the secretariat working group members examined and discussed the application materials for 2020 accreditation of medical education in 19 universities, including Chengdu University and so on, and the problems found in this process were also discussed. Then, the secretariat office announced the submission of the 2019 progress report and comprehensive report on the accreditation of medical education, as well as daily accreditation work, such as international interaction in the first half of 2019.
In the end of the meeting, the secretariat working group had a discussion on the accreditation standards of WFME, the application forms, supporting application materials and working plan, reaching a consensus on further promoting the accreditation work of WFME.
