On March 30, the annual working conference of the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education of Ministry of Education, China was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan. Pengjian Shi, Deputy Director of Department of Higher Education of Ministry of Education, Qiming Wang, Director of Agricultural and Medical Education Division, Department of Higher Education of Ministry of Education, and Shengguo Jin, Deputy Director of Science, Technology and Education Department of Ministry of Health attended the meeting together with the committee members of the Working Committee.
Pengjian Shi delivered an important remark focusing on the significance of the accreditation of medical education acting on the international convention. An accreditation system that met international standards was of great help in fostering the competitiveness of basic medical education in China. Secretary-General Boji Cheng, on behalf of the secretariat of the Working Committee, reported the work summary of 2011 and work plan for 2012. Besides, Deputy Secretary-General Weimin Wang hosted the voting session of the accreditation status of the basic medical education program in Jilin University, China Medical University and Guangxi Medical University.
Besides, the committee members of the Working Committee also discussed how to perfect the accreditation report, producers, incentive policy, and the medical schools and assessors workshops, which was necessary for the healthy development of the accreditation of basic medical education in China.
