The Working Conference of the Secretariat of the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education successfully held

On July 25, 2016, the working conference of the secretariat of the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education, which is also known as the ninth meeting of the revision on Standards of Basic Medical Education was held successfully in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. Secretariat working group members participated in this meeting.


At the beginning of the meeting, the secretariat announced the electronic voting results from committee members of the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education on conclusive suggestions of 17 colleges and universities (including Mudanjiang Medical School, Youjiang ethnic medical School etc.). According to the regulations of the Guidelines for the Accreditation of Basic Medical Education, the accreditation results of these 17 colleges and universities were published on the website on April 2016 for public review.


Then, the preliminary visit team members introduced the conditions of Preliminary visits to 2 schools in 2016. The participants discussed comprehensively the submission time and content of the improvement plans of the two schools. The secretariat working group members reviewed the accreditation application forms from 13 colleges and universities (including Shandong University, Tongji University etc.) who applied to be accredited in 2017. They discussed the problems found in the application forms and achieved conclusions on the procedures of sending feedbacks and key points in application review.


In order to regulate the writing of progress reports and comprehensive reports, ensure the effectiveness of reviewing the related materials and help schools with a continuous improvement, participants discussed and approved the templates of the progress report and the comprehensive report.


Ultimately, the secretariat announced the arrangements of the training for schools, the training for secretariats and the training for assessors. Meanwhile, the secretariat working group members discussed comprehensively the work distribution of Standards for Basic Medical Education in China--the 2016 Revision.
