Training for Secretaries of the Medical Accreditation Held

On September 24, 2016, the training for secretaries of the medical accreditation was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. More than 20 secretaries and trainee secretaries of the2016 assessment team attended the training. This training was chaired by Mrs. Xie Ana from the Secretariat of the committee.


At the beginning, Mrs. Xie Ana sorted out the duties and work flow of the accreditation secretaries, and gave a detailed introduction of the preparations before the site visit, and the secretarial work during and after the site visit. Participants thoroughly discussed accreditation related aspects including skills of communication with staff of accredited schools and the assessment team members, development of the site visit schedule, and preparation of the preliminary report and the final report.


Subsequently, Professor Qu Bo from China Medical University introduced the duties and obligations of the bilingual secretary. He emphasized that the bilingual secretary needs to understand the differences of medical education at home and abroad, and should be familiar with the procedure and standards differences of medical accreditation at home and abroad. They should pay attention to the improvement and accumulation of communication and cooperation skills and the oral and written English ability.


Thereafter, Mr. Wang Jingchao from the Secretariat Office summarized the common mistakes in the accreditation report submitted to the Secretariat, and the writing requirements and common problems appeared in the accreditation report. He also explained the basic principles for secretaries to draft the preliminary report and final report.


Finally, Professor Wang Weimin emphasized the role of the secretary as a bridge to connect the assessment team members, the accredited institutions and the Secretariat, and expressed his gratitude to the secretaries for their commitment and enthusiasm for the medical accreditation.
